Environmental Protection Policy Statement

The Environmental Protection Policy etc Act 1990 imposes a statutory duty to ensure in so far as is reasonably practicable the environmental protection of their employees whilst at work.  This duty also extends to others who may be affected by the work.

Employees also have a statutory duty to take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their omissions.

To enable these duties to be carried out, it is our intent to ensure that responsibilities for environmental matters are effectively assigned, accepted and fulfilled at all levels within our organisational structure.

  1. We will, so far as is reasonably practicable, ensure that:
    1. Adequate resources are provided to ensure that proper provision can be made for
    2. Environmental protection.
    3. Monitoring activities are undertaken to maintain agreed standards, risk assessments are also carried out and periodically reviewed.
    4. Systems of work are provided and maintained that are safe and without risk to environment.
    5. When necessary, contact and liaise with the Environmental Officers & Local authority.
    6. The provision and maintenance of all plant, machinery and equipment is safe and without risk to the environment.
    7. The working environment of all employees is safe and without risks to the environment and that adequate provision is made with regard to the facilities and arrangements for their welfare at work.
  2. It is the duty of all employees at work:
    1. To take full reasonable care for the environment for themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and co-operate with us in fulfilling our statutory duties.
  3. General
    1. This environmental policy will be reviewed at least annually, amended and updated as and when necessary.
    2. Communication of any such will be made to all employees.
    3. There are established and maintained effective procedures for consultation and communication between all levels of management and employees on all matters relating to environment.
    4. Detailed reference information for employees can be found in the employee information Manual which is kept in the Office.
