Acre Secures New Projects

Acre Lifts are pleased to announce the following projects that have been successfully tendered and won.

  • The modernisation of six lifts for Southwark Council.
  • Secured the modernisation of four lifts for the Holiday Inn chain of hotels (three at Gatwick and one at Mayfair).
  • Two lifts at the head offices of the clothing chain La Senza.
  • Three lifts at the prestigious Halkin Hotel.
  • We also continue our modernisation works for Camden council with seven new lifts to refurbish in the near future.

NHS King Georges Hospital Trust

This project involved the refurbishment of eight hydraulic passenger lifts for the NHS trust at King Georges Hospital. These lifts not only needed major works to bring them into working order but also so they meet the DDA (disability discrimination act).

An important factor in Acre Lifts winning the contract was a presentation given to the NHS King Georges Trust and Sodexo (the facilities management company that were overseeing our works on site) by our Managing Director David Bishop and construction manager John Pearcey. This meeting established a good working relationship which was maintained during the entirety of the project.

As is apparent from this e-mail that we received from Ray Gilbert the Sodexo manager on site:

John, please extend thanks to everyone concerned for a job well done during the recent refurbishment . The project went well without too much hassle and came in on time and within budget so the Trust were very pleased with that and the end result . The lads worked well as a team to achieve time scales and just got on with the job and caused virtually no grief, it was a pleasure having them on site which is more than I can say for contractors on other projects I have on the go . So well done to everyone.

Avenue Road Project

Avenue Road Project

Two Very Prestige Private Residential Properties At 38 & 40 Avenue Road, St Johns Wood, London

This project involved the installation of two bespoke “Car” lifts to service underground parking, which are the first of their type to be installed within the United Kingdom.

Blenheim House Construction the main contractors on this multi million pound project to build two high status and spec houses in a desirable area, wanted to not only have a car lift that made the most of the space available, but to have a car lift that represented the style and luxury of the entire build of both properties.

To help them achieve this, they in turn employed Hoare Lee (An award-winning firm of consulting engineers) as the main consultants, together with Global Lift Equipment who supplied the bespoke lift, designed these unique lifts.

Once the design was finalised the contract was then tendered and awarded to Acre Lifts and the work of installing these unique lifts commenced and its fair to say that there were quite a few engineering issues to overcome & resolve as there always are with bespoke prototype products which tested our skills and knowledge.

Acre Lifts were and remain very proud to have been involved with this project, which have been both demanding & challenging, but also reflecting Acre Lifts’ abilities to manage and install not just bespoke lifts, but lifts of any kind in all sorts of environments.
